A Bit About Me

I am a board-certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon with over 14 years of clinical experience, as well as a growing Surgical Ethicist. I have expertise in minimally invasive, surgical treatment of benign, malignant, and inflammatory diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. In the field of surgical ethics, I am interested in medical decision-making, health equity, and the intersection of bioethics and the law.

I am passionate about teaching and coaching trainees who represent the future of healthcare for all of us.

I am taking time to pursue some personal ventures, including developing this website!  I am also completing my Surgical Ethics Fellowship with the Washington University, St. Louis, Center for Humanism in the Surgical Specialties--                                                .

I provided full-time colorectal surgical services in a hospital clinic-employed model with Overlake Medical Center and Clinics in Bellevue, WA.

I took some time off to rest, vacation, and move from Utah to Washington State.

While a full-time colorectal surgeon in a private practice model in Salt Lake City, Utah, I also served as core faculty for the ACGME-accredited colorectal fellowship administered by an alliance of local private colorectal surgery practices.
